Available water measurement
Setting Out · Phase 08 — Build
Static pressure at the tap nearest the meter
Everything else in the house off, tap fully open. Read it twice — about 6.30pm and about 6.30am — and record the lower one.
Flow rate at the tap, by timed bucket test
Measured bucket, tap fully open, three runs, discard the outlier. Litres ÷ seconds × 60.
Working pressure with that flow running
Gauge read while the water is moving, not at rest. The gap between this and static is what friction has already taken.
Service and meter size
Size stamped on the meter body, plus the size and material of the service pipe to the house. On older homes note galvanised pipe — it corrodes inward.
If you have a bore: pump specification
Make, model, rating, and whether it is submersible or a surface pump on a well bore. Leave blank if you are on scheme water only.
If you have a bore: measured output
Same timed bucket test, run at the bore outlet.
If you have a bore: licensing position
Area irrigated against the 0.2 hectare trigger, whether a DWER licence is held or needed, and any bore log from the driller.
